Nordic-Baltic Mentoring Programme

Arts & Parts specialises in the professional development of artists at all stages of careers via mentoring and formal programmes, and in October 2022 we were invited to facilitate the opening events of a new Nordic-Baltic Mentoring Programme which aims to promote interactivity, sustainability and long-term relationships across Nordic-Baltic borders between experienced and younger artists and cultural workers.

Located within the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme of Nordic Culture Point, this mentoring programme has been established to support the sharing of knowledge, learning and exchange of experiences in the region.

Arts & Parts was invited to facilitate the first meetings of all the mentees and mentors, where we focussed on storytelling in a professional setting, and worked alongside colleagues Miles Evans (Miles Evans PR) and Marieke Meischke (independent cultural operator & performance coach) to deliver a short programme that served to ‘launch’ this innovative six-month pilot.

It was great to meet and work with the ten mentees and ten mentors whose careers span a plethora of art forms and disciplines including writing, music, circus, puppetry, dance, visual arts, scenography, film, architecture, to environmental entrepreneurism, anthropology, archaeology and social equity.

We thank Geir Lindahl, Senior Advisor at Nordic Culture Point, for inviting us into this process, and look forward to seeing how this programme will develop in the future.
